Poison In The Water

Steve, a recent widower, is trying stay strong for his daughter Jade, a precocious and imaginative 9 year old who believes that there is a witch poisoning the water in the park by their house. Steve discusses what could be triggering her latest fantastical creation with his therapist while also avoiding the subject of his own struggles. Landing on the idea that playing along and searching for this witch might help create a connection between Jade’s grief and her imagination, Steve finds himself on a witch hunt with his daughter in the park that his family used to go to. There Steve is forced to confront his past, his loss, and the apparition his daughter believes is real. Are his feelings of loss mirroring that of his daughter’s or is there indeed something evil poisoning the water? Poison In The Water is a fairy tale that asks us: which is more frightening, the fear we deny or the fear we create.
